TEFL in Taiwan

For many English teachers, Taiwan is an understandably enticing country to work due to the good wages and cheap living costs and importantly the amount of work available. You may be able to secure a job through a telephone interview but it is possible that you may be required to travel to Taiwan for a face-to-face interview. While North American teachers are the preferred choice amongst many English learners in Taipei (the majority of teachers in the city are American), British nationals shouldn’t find this too much of a problem when looking for work. Most employers won’t care too much about your accent as long as you look presentable.
Living in Taipei is expensive but many schools offer some form of help with finding accommodation so you won’t be stuck. Most teachers travel into the city from the suburbs where cheaper accommodation is easier to find. The social scene in Taiwan is buzzing and with the very low crime rates you should feel safe and comfortable on a night out. Food and drink is cheap so going out regularly is affordable and also a great way to meet new people, especially the locals!
Taiwan is a gorgeous country with a huge amount to offer. The East Coast of the country is lined with beaches and towering cliffs and is suited to the more relaxed person who wants to get away from the pollution and noise of the city. Get TEFL qualified now and teach in Taiwan!

“Brilliant - teaching style really relaxed, but so informative, learnt so much. Concise, but covers all areas.” Rebecca Kingston, Student, Essex
