Can I get a TEFL job independently from TEFL England?
Posted by Jennifer MacKenzie - 10:20 on 11 March 2010
I was wondering whether, after completing one of the TEFL courses, it's possible to get help finding a job in a country other than those advertised on the website at that time? Sorry if this is a stupid question and thanks for your help!
This is a very common question that we receive here at TEFL England all the time.
The answer has to be a resounding YES!
Yes, you can get jobs all over the world.
The jobs on the site are just organisations/companies/schools that have directly contacted us. They are a drop in the ocean in what is available out there. Most people actually don’t get positions through us but find their own jobs from websites, newspapers and sending their CVs off to schools in the country they want to teach in.
Good starting places on your TEFL job hunt are the directory that we can offer to our TEFL graduates, websites such as www.TEFL.com , www.TEFL.net and www.TEFLscotland.com/jobs, the local yellow page equivalent for wherever you are looking to go and also Susan Griffith's 'Teaching English Abroad' a fantastic resource book.
