Hi!

I went for the weekend TEFL + 50 hour online TEFL + 30 hour online grammar course.

I attended the weekend course a couple of weeks ago and found it to be really useful. It was full of interactive games, teaching methodology and tips. It was a long weekend but it was a lot of fun.

At the end of the weekend I was filled with enthusiasm about going and teaching English abroad and felt a lot more confident that it is something that I am capable of doing.

I had already started the online TEFL when I had the weekend course, although I wasn't far through it. I have found that the two courses really compliment and reinforce one another so would definitely recommend doing both.

One of the best things about the online course is that there is loads of material that can be printed off and referred back to, so when you go away you already have a good resources pack.

I like the format of the online course. You have a series of lessons, where you are provided with information and asked questions about the information as you go through (like a comprehension task). At the end of each lesson you have to complete assignments. There are teachers who provide really useful feedback on these assignments and provide you with a nudge in the right direction when you get an answer incorrect, rather than giving you the right answer straight away.

I haven't started the grammar course yet so can't really tell you anything about that one.

I hope that this is useful

Hayley.

Very much agree with the first poster. Highly recommend the weekday course over the weekend one, there is so much to learn!

I've just done my first TEFL weekender - a 20 hour course in Manchester at the Ramada Hotel 27th / 28th March. I cannot recommend this course enough - simply brilliant. The highlight for me was the tutor Alex whom not only has such a massive passion and excitement for her teaching but also the subject understanding and knowledge to back it all up. I had a great weekend! Well done TEFL!
