Michael in Japan
Michael is a trainee architect and made redundant shortly before he was due to complete all his training. Instead of getting down about it, he decided to ride out the recession by taking a TEFL course and going to Japan for 12 months.
Name: Michael Gilchrist
Age: 27
Occupation: Architect
Course: Weekend Glasgow
Destination: Japan
Michael doesn't want to give up being an architect, but with the current economic climate he feels that it is better to spend the time productively abroad learning new skills, experiencing a new culture and doing some good in the world.
Michael heads out to Japan in a few weeks for the start of the Japanese academic year at the beginning of April. I am sure he'll keep in touch.

We learnt the theory first then got plenty of chances to put it all into practice. By the end I felt more confident about teaching an English language class. ” Deborah Wright, Unemployed, Cheshire
