About the job
This is a teaching job with the focus on having fun while completely immersing 6-15 year olds in English. Teachers work for five hours a day, five days a week as well as taking part in activities during three evenings. Classes last about 45-50 minutes and teachers should have plenty of games, songs and activities at hand to liven up lessons which they are free to organise themselves. This is an opportunity to be creative in your teaching methods and really engage with your pupils!
Summer camps take place across China in the following regions
• Shenzhen
• Zhejiang
• Jiangsu
• Fujian
• Hubei
• Shanxi
• Hefei
Requirements
To apply you must
• Be a native English speaker
• Be aged between 21 and 58
• Be a passport holder from Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada or UK
• Be confident in the classroom and have good communication skills
• Have a 20 hour TEFL England Certificate as a minimum
Additionally
• Anyone with an English degree and a TEFL certificate will be given preferential treatment
• Teaching couples will be given preferential treatment
• Prior experience teaching in China is not necessary but preferred
Costs and pay
Teachers are responsible for their own travel costs such as their airfare and any travel to and from the school as well as their own medical insurance.
The school provides
• Accommodation (tbc)
• All meals for students and teachers in the camp cafeteria
• A one or two day tour of the city
• Some teaching materials but teachers are also required to bring their own
Weekly pay
5000-6000 RMB (£480 -£577) for a three week camp
How long can I work?
The camps are held between July and August (dates to be confirmed) and typically last 2, 3 or 4 weeks.
