TEFL CV Guide Part 1
Step 1 - The basics
This guide will help you to create a general TEFL CV, but you should always try, where possible and appropriate, to tailor your CV an individual job vacancy. This guide is also focused particularly towards those applying for TEFL jobs abroad from the UK, but most guidelines are still applicable if you are delivering a CV to a potential employer in person.
Let’s start by choosing the format of your CV.
Conventional CV wisdom applies here. Font, size, colour etc. should all be standard. We’d suggest Arial in size 12 font and a standard black colour. You should stick to this throughout your CV.
Headers can help to keep your CV neatly arranged and easy to skim read – a larger size, possibly in bold or underlined formatting, can help here!
Plan to keep your TEFL CV to a maximum of two pages. If you think your qualifications, work experience or interests would take you over two pages, plan to include only the most relevant information to the position for which you are applying.
