TEFL Jobs in Bahrain
TEFL England is recruiting for TEFL jobs in Bahrain.
Bahrain is a small Gulf state and former Emirate surrounded by much larger neighbours and near the Western shores of the Persian Gulf.
The central location makes it ideal for travelling throughout the region and salaries can be high for well qualified TEFL teachers.
Part of an archipelago of 33 islands, Bahrain Island is the largest at approximately 34 miles long by 18 miles wide, making it possible to cross in one day (in theory).
Bahrain is a very hot country, where temperatures can reach a scorching 118°F during summer months. The country is well set up for the overwhelming heat and humidity with most public buildings comfortably air-conditioned.
Well known for oil and pearls, Bahrain has important historical buildings and a UNESCO world heritage site - the Qal’at al-Bahrain, the harbour and capital of the ancient land of Dilmun.
Over a third of the population are immigrant workers and it is a surprisingly liberal country for the Western traveller.
Not many people know that Bahrain has the fastest growing economy in the Arab world and it was also named the world's fastest growing financial center by the City of London's Global Financial Centres.
Bahrain is an interesting and lucrative place to teach English and a TEFL England qualification is highly sought after. Accommodation or an allowance for living expenses is usually included and the wages are generally higher than Europe. All salaries are tax free in Bahrain, making it a popular choice the TEFL teacher.
