This placement involves teaching spoken English to Chinese undergraduate students at a reputable university located in central Shanghai, China. Shanghai is a dynamic and fast-growing city that mixes the highlights of modern China with the traditional.

Overview
Salary: Monthly salary RMB 4600-5000 (about GBP 500) It is important to understand that while Shanghai is becoming an international city with fast growing economy, the cost of living is still significantly lower than the UK. For example a 350ml can of Coca-Cola costs RMB 2.00 (about GBP 19p).
Contract Duration: One year contract from 21/Feb/2011 – 20/Jan/2012 (Chinese academic terms: summer holiday July and August, winter holiday end of Jan to end of Feb)
Housing: Free single apartment accommodation on campus
Airfare: Refund of return International Air Fare (Economy). Allowance of RMB 2000 (about GBP 200) towards domestic travel in China at the end of contract term
Health Insurance: Local medical care worth RMB 2000 (about GBP 200)
Holiday: 6 weeks paid holiday with a travel allowance of $3000 HKD (£250)
Working/teaching hours: 12-16 teaching hours per week (45 minute lesson per teaching hour).
