Prague and the Czech Republic are renowned haunts of TEFL teachers from all over the Anglophonic world. Many teachers dream of going to Prague - a city with architecture and history a thousand years old, associated with the significant personalities and history of the Czech state. Prague's beauty has amazed its visitors since the Middle Ages. Prague is a magical, golden city of cobbled streets and a hundred spires, but, most importantly, a city that is always awe-inspiring and original. However, outside Prague, the rest of the country is a delight also with some wonderful teaching opportunities.
To teach English in the Czech Republic you only need a 20 hour Certificate, a positive and pro-active attitude and as long as you're TEFL qualified, NO degree is necessary. We are actively recruiting for these positions and positions are available all year round. Contracts are for one year.
Teaching English in the Czech Republic
Salary: A full time teacher can earn between 22 000 CZKÂÂ to 36 000CZKÂÂ on monthly basis.
Accommodation: If the teacher prefers to stay alone, the average rent is about 10 000 – 13 000CZKÂÂ for a studio per month, if he/she wants to share the flat or even room, the cost is considerably lower, from 3000 – 7000CZKÂÂ per month.
Orientation: Help is given with finding accommodation and a reduction in estate agency fees has been organised. There is also a resource centre with an extensive library and other supporting staff (coordinators, course managers etc.). Support from your senior teacher. Plus 50% reimbursement on your Prague Metro pass.
Location: Most positions are in Prague, but if you were interested in teaching in another city (Brno, Ostrava, …) we may be able to offer them some positions there.
Contract length: One year contracts with extensions on yearly basis.
Departure dates:We recruit new teachers all year round, but of course the busiest periods are September and October and then January and February.

Requirements
20 hour TEFL England TEFL Certificate (minimum)
University degree not essential, but advantageous
Excellent knowledge of the English language
Strong commitment to work plus a strong drive to learn and achieve.
A good knowledge of Grammar is also preferred for these positions. If you are not completely confident in your grammar ability, we would suggest taking a Basic+Grammar or Recommended TEFL course.
About the teaching
Teachers teach in-company courses at the client's premises (companies like DHL, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte, Tesco…) so it is 'Business English' you are teaching.
Pay and Conditions
The teacher´s salary is the Czech average salary, but of course it depends on the number of classes you take. Part time and full time positions are available. The number of hours you work is largely up to you. Full time teachers can afford to live in comfort in the centre of Europe. A full time teacher can earn between 22 000CZK (£780) to 36 000CZK (£1,300) on monthly basis. Czech prices of food are considerable, a person can spend about 200CZK (£7.00) a day for food if home-prepared, 400CZK (£14.00) daily with lunch and dinner in the restaurant.
