From Alexander the Great, to the Ottoman Empire via the Roman theatre of Ephesus, Turkey is home to the remains of some of the most powerful and influential civilisations the world has ever seen. More modern sights are just as exciting - you could take a trip on the famous Orient Express or cruise on a Bosphorus ferry to see the lights of Istanbul’s Old Town at night. Turkey has plenty of warm weather thanks to its Mediterranean climate and plenty of beaches on which to soak up the sun. Its friendly people, trendy city culture and excellent teaching opportunities make Turkey a much desired destination for English teachers.

These TEFL jobs in Turkey are based in Istanbul, the ancient city that straddles the divide between Europe and Asia. There is so much to do in this huge city, whether you want to head to modern bars and shops or relax in a traditional tea garden. Of course, it’s impossible to forget famous sights, such as the beautiful Hagia Sophia, when you are surrounded by history and beautiful architecture.

You would be working at a Primary/Secondary school in the city, teaching English to children of a range of ages. This is a very reputable school in the European area of Istanbul. Teaching English in Turkey - Overview

Pay: Including accommodation allowance, £1850 net
Teaching hours: 25 hours per week
Contract length: To August 31st 2012
Benefits: Accommodation allowance, taxes covered by employer, return fare to Turkey, work visa charges paid.
