Venues

The London weekend and weekday TEFL courses are held at the Thistle Hotel, 90-92 Lancaster Gate, Hyde Park, London, W2 3NR. The number of the hotel is 0871 376 9022, should you need it.

Getting to the Thistle Hotel

Road

From M1, follow A5 to Central London. At Marble Arch roundabout, 4th exit to Bayswater Road. Follow signs to Notting Hill Gate (A402), past Lancaster Gate underground station. Take 2nd right into Lancaster Gate and immediately left into the Thistle Hyde Park hotel. There are 20 car parking spaces at an additional charge.

Tube
Take the central line (red colour) to Lancaster Gate. Turn right along Bayswater Road, walk approx 300m (approx 5mins walk). The hotel is situated on the right, facing Hyde Park. Alternatively, Queensway is the next stop on the central line; Leave the station and cross over Queensway. Proceed along Bayswater Road approx 450m (approx 10mins walk), Thistle Hyde hotel is situated on the right, facing Hyde Park, beyond Thistle Kensington Gardens.

Rail
Paddington Railway Station is approximately 0.5 miles from the hotel (15 – 20 mins walk). The Heathrow Express departs every 15mins (approximately) from 05:10 until after 11pm. Tickets are £15.50 (£117.50) on-board Information on other transport or for transfers to and from Airports and Main-line Railway Stations can be provided on request.

Air
From Heathrow Airport take the Heathrow Express to Paddington and then the Circle or District line to Bayswater. The Heathrow Airbus is also adjacent to the hotel. From Gatwick take the Gatwick Express to Victoria and then the Circle or District line to Bayswater. Alternatively take a taxi from either airport.

Please note that Northampton Square, Peartree Court, Finsbury and Hayworth Halls of Residence and Saddlers Sports Centre are all within the Congestion Charging Zone. Walter Sickert Hall is outside the Zone.

What I liked most about the course: Firstly, I cannot praise the tutor, Richard, highly enough...he is simply superb in the way he imparts his knowledge and makes every aspect interesting. There wasn't a single part of the course I didn't enjoy or learn from.
