Paid TEFL Volunteering in Mexico
- 100-hour TEFL England certificate
- University degree
TEFL England is currently recruiting for positions involving teaching English in Mexico.
While these are volunteering positions, you will be paid a living stipend equivalent to what a local English teacher earns. This is in addition to having your accommodation, including utilities, paid for the duration of your stay. As such, this is an excellent opportunity to see a fascinating new country, gain teaching experience and have a meaningful impact on the lives and prospects of your students. Not only will you be working in an excellent teaching environment, your teaching hours will all be during the week, leaving your weekends free to travel around Mexico.
You would be teaching at an English centre in one of four Mexican towns. The emphasis at these centres is on teaching real-life English rather than complicated grammar and terminology, with a handy curriculum and textbooks provided for this purpose. Teachers are free to integrate their own favourite activities and games – anything that will help their students develop their English skills. The program is looking for teachers who are dedicated, punctual, organised and enthusiastic. Students come from a range of ages, from pre-teens to adult professionals, with teachers assigned to classes based on their strengths and interests. Class sizes are capped at twelve students, allowing you to ensure plenty of individual time with your pupils.
